Captain Jack holds a 200-ton Masters License. He began ocean sailing in 1990 when he purchased a 41-ft ketch in New York. A few years later he sailed that vessel “Sound Waves” through the Caribbean and Panama Canal on his way to California. Over the next 20 years Captain Jack owned or managed four different yacht brokerages. He has captained charters and delivered yachts of all kinds out of San Diego, and up and down the West Coast from Seattle to Panama. He founded a San Diego charter/tour company with a large Coast Guard inspected 38-passenger sailboat “Romancing The Wind”. In 2019 Captain Jack sold everything to purchase and refit “Magic Carpet” a 60-ft custom ketch. He embarked on a 4-year cruising adventure from San Diego to Annapolis, passing through the Panama Canal once again. Since arriving in Annapolis, he has captained dozens of local charters around the Chesapeake Bay and a score of deliveries from as far away as Canada, Florida, and the Caribbean. Captain Jack enjoys sharing his love of boating and is known as a capable and calm Charter Captain.
