Captain Rocky has been in and around the water his whole life. Being from Stuart, FL he grew up surfing, fishing and diving. It wasn’t until he moved to New York City that he discovered sailing. After getting ASA certifications with Manhattan Sailing School and Blue Water Sailing School in Ft Lauderale, he bought his first sailboat and cruised the coastal waters from the Long Island Sound to Maine. After crewing and captaining boats from Newport to Bermuda to the Caribbean, he moved aboard Blue Pearl, his 40 ft sloop. He sailed Blue Pearl from NY to the Bahamas and several more trips up and down the east coast before settling in the Chesapeake Bay…for the moment.
Rocky holds a USCG 25-ton Masters Captain’s License with a sailing endorsement.
